Alex Marsaud

Hi, my name is Alexandre Marsaud and I am a self-taught French photographer and only take inspiration from what surrounds me directly and catches my eye. A very practical and on-the-terrain trial and error method has allowed me to discover and explore my photographic style and to evolve as well. I tend to be drawn to odd/abstract things that would otherwise pass us by. Most people might find these uninteresting or worthless, but I am fascinated by the story they often tell and how people’s reaction to it shows human nature in the rawest of forms. I've also grown very fond of looking at usual things with an unusual eye and through a different angle, as it brings a fresh look onto what we thought we knew. More conventional beauty, whether man-made or natural, also take my fancy, in the form of mostly black and white sepia-toned timeless architectural or portrait shots.

I have been living in Yorkshire for the past 3 years and selling my work at local Arts and Crafts markets and recently showcased a series of black and white architectural photographs entitled “Vantage Point” in a local arts gallery in Keighley. I have also been doing some commissioned work, mainly corporate and sports events, weddings and studio portraiture. I have now moved to Luxembourg and you can see my latest pictures of this beautiful town, together with some of my most representative work, on my website and if you want to get updated on my latest photographs and events, come and visit my Twitter and Facebook pages.
